"Graduates, as you embark on your life’s journey, you will come to a fork in the road. The way to the left leads to inevitable destruction. The one to the right, to despair and misery. Choose wisely." –Woody Allen, commencement ceremony speech   I choose to bushwhack the middle path, and at the same time endeavor always to position myself at the end of any bell curve I'm on.   Randy Evans   OK! Coffe Break's over! Back on your heads!

Hi Ya'all!I'm so looking forward to re-connecting with you and hearing all about your life's journey!  It has sure been a ride hasn't it?!!  I'm living up in Tetonia, ID which is in the Teton Valley (over the mountain from Jackson).  My husband, Buck, and I have enjoyed the peaceful life and slow pace that living in this mountain valley has brought us the last 12 years.  Can't wait to see you!

I've never been notified of past reunion's and looking forward to seeing all of you

I graduated from Weber State as an RN and worked at LDS Hospital until 1996 when I moved to Lincoln City, OR to work as the sole nurse in their ER...still here.  I know I always kept to myself in HS but nursing brought me to life.  Not many will remember me, since I was such a nerd except maybe  Karla Salazar and Terrie Hansen who were my best of friends. I see where many of our rank has fallen...hopefully in peace.

Hello everyone,This year is my political year and maybe I will be at the National Convention for Republicans the week before reunion if I win my nomination. I was married the week after our 20th reunion and now I have two wonderful sons and a great Scottish husband Kalani who was born in Hawaii and is probably going to be working in England soon. So my time tables are shaky. We live here in Colorado Springs. Hope to see everyone in the fall.

comment by Robbie Bird Snow

Looking forward to seeing everyone.Just to let you know  I DID NOT MARRY TOM MITCHELL. I married Nick Snow (East '66)--been married 35 years. We got married at SNOWBIRD. Just thought I would get that out of the way.  Looking forward to seeing everyone.

I am Bary Peterson's wife and received the invitation.  I am sorry that he is no longer here and we miss him everyday.  High school is such a unique time of community and memory building.  I hope you all will remember Bary and all the good times you had with him.  He is no doubt watching the rest of the parade we are all moving in.  I know he would want all of you to assess your lives and live for what really matters, life is at the most only 25,000 days long.  If that were dollars it would be very little.  A book that Bary loved and gave to his brothers is The Purpose driven life by Rick Warren.  Hope many of you will pick up a copy.  Have a great time reflecting on the past and the good ole days.  They were the best. I too graduated in 1968 and will always be a product of the 60ties.  To infinity and beyond!  Dianna Peterson

I taught sophomore and senior English back in 1968.  I would just like to say hello to my former students.

Hi Everyone,     With schedule permitting, I'm down for the reunion.  I made the last one (30 year) and it was terrific. Seeing people you haven't seen in so many years, where did the time go?  Seems like yesterday, Don Foote, Doug Olson, Chris Utley, Pete Black, and I were playing dances, and assemblies with the Poor Boys.  I guess the old saying, "Time flies when you're having fun"  is true. We're the lucky ones now.  So many are gone.

comment by Rick Couron

Hello old friends, good to here from all of you. Well I have been married for 38 years as of the 18th of this month. We had three children and now have five grand children and life has been great. I have been in the pipe trades all of my career and will retire in two years. I plan on traviling a lot more. I never grew up and don't suppose I ever will. I love to fish , mountain bike and cruse. Looking forward to seeing you all Saturday

comment by Maurine Cannon Taufer

Hi Everyone,It will be great to see all of you on Friday evening.  I haven't seen most of you since the 30th.  I have lived in Glenwood Springs, Colorado since 1981 and we have raised our 2 sons there.  I am director for dance at the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts and my husband of 32 years, John, is a landscape architect/land planner.  Sounds like a fun reunion - thanks for all the planning and work on it.  I hope we don't look TOO old - 40 years - that's a long time!  See you on Friday!Maurine

comment by Kay Miner Mumford

I CANNOT believe it's been forty years!  Where has the time gone?  Maybe to raising my six children and they in turn raising their children (19)!!  Now, we're just down to one...Tag, the four legged kind.  See you in September.

comment by Bill Partridge

I must be getting old to realize that I graduated 40 years ago.  I was the quiet one, no one knew me, and I slowly slipped down the dripping halls, didn't raise any ruckus, and just plain got an education at Skyline.  Never been to a reunion, but this time might be the first.  Live in Brigham City, thus close enough to come and see all you OLD people.

comment by Teresa McCormack Flegal

We've got a great reunion planned.  There are some who have worked so hard.  We need everyone to come so that we can reconnect and catch up.  I'm really looking forward to seeing you all.

comment by Ned Nerdin

40 year reunion???  I don't know about the rest of you but know I am not that old!It has been an honor to be working with the reunion committee and I am looking forward to connecting with old acquaintances & friends in September.

Class of 68! My wife Lenni (Van Grol) East High 68 and I have lived in Boise since 1975. They consider us natives. Actually Lenni was born in Idaho Falls. I sold Pharmaceuticals for 18+ years. I have had a brokers license(securities), a real estate license and now deliver mail for the United States Postal Service. I'd rather be retired. We have a son and daughter. 7 grandchildren, 6 girls and one boy. We have excess estrogen in this family. We are looking forward to September. Hi all.

comment by Richard Miller

Hi everyone!  I have to admit life has treated me well.  I got two wonderful kids and business of 23 years, surveying and engineering, has treated me well.  You know the day after we graduated I left home, flew to California where I worked and went to school, but soon found myself having to serve our country.  After that experience I came back to Salt Lake where I soon found employment in an engineering company and I've been at it for 35 years now.Today my recreation is mostly golf and I play at Alpine Country Club.  I've been into thoroughbreds and a little boating over the years, but they require a lot of money and time. lolI've been to several of our reunions but I'm sure this one will be the best.

comment by Valerie Cox Corliss

I am also astounded that forty years has flowed on by. I have many fond memories of skyline and have kept close to robin winburn and laura horiuchi who I meet for lunch once a year. I married a fine man and we are still rearing children in our old age. I have a private practice in marriage and family therapy. We live on 2 acres in highland, utah and spend our days on the soccer field or at violin recitals. We are grandparents to four who have recently moved to seattle and we ache for want of them in our day to day life. Yet, I have never been so content. Perhaps age is actually more than its cracked up to be. Hope to reunite with all those gentle friends I remember in gratitude.

comment by Zina Brown Kincaid

It will be great fun to connect with all of you again.  Will I recognize you?  Will you remember me?   I still live in Everett, WA where my husband builds custom homes and I teach gifted 5th grade.  My eight children are grown and all on to their own paths.   Forty years is a lot of water under the bridge!  I do get back to SLC several times a year to visit my dad, and I'll be there in September!

comment by Mike McDonald

I have been reading these entries for weeks now - about time I signed in.  Life has been rich.  I have a wonderful, talented wife and six amazing kids.  We live north of Seattle and I have been very family centered, so much so that I haven't spent time with any of my old Skyline friends although I do see Zina Brown Kinkaid every once in awhile. It will be wonderful to check in with you all at the reunion and to play some golf with whomever makes it to the course.I thought our Skyline years were priceless.  We were good friends - good and friends - and it will be good to renew those friendships.

comment by Laura Gaddie (Horiuchi)

gee- i'm just about 10 blocks away. my daughter will be a junior at skyline. we're so old they don't have us in the display case or hanging on the wall. i'm glad we remember we were there. yes, lets get together and have group.

comment by Scott Wall

It's hard to believe 40 years have passed. I retired last year after 29 1/2 years as a Special Agent for the FBI. My career took us to San Diego for three years and Chicago for about 18 years.  We are back in the area now.  We are empty nesters with two daughters who have given us four grandchildren.  Life is good.  I'm looking forward to seeing all of the familiar faces whose names I can't place due to the cobwebs. We live in Layton. My wife, Carolyn, went to West High (don't hold it against her) and now works part time at United Airline.

Greetings!  I have one son who married a wonderful girl with two little boys whom he has raised and is living in Austin, Texas. I graduated from Westminster College of Nursing and have been working as an RN for 26 years. Have lived in Colorado and Northern California and am now back in SLC. The last reunion I attended was in 1978 and it was a blast. Thanks to all those putting this one together.

comment by Robert (Bob) Alm

Hi Everyone ... Looking forward to seeing familiar faces in September!  My wife Patty will be coming along with me ... We have to take a flight from Newark, NJ to get there on Friday for the Mix-n-Mingle, so wish us luck getting there on time!  See you there!  Bob Alm.

Retired and living happy.

comment by Doug Holt

Hard to believe that 40 years has sped by.  Thanks to all on the committee for putting this together.  I am still in Arizona.  My wife of 13 years and I have 8 kids between us, and 18 grandkids.  Life is good in the Gila Valley.  I try to help our community as Superior Court judge. I run for re-election in two years.  Look forward to the reunion in September

comment by Pam (Chivers) Worthen

I'm looking forward to this reunion!  We haven't been able to make the others because of family and other commitments.  We have lived in the Tacoma, Washington area for 30 years.  Five children and 12 grandchildren later, Bruce and I are still happy and healthy. See you in September!Pam

comment by Bill Airsman

Hi All,It's great to have this opportunity to see some of you again!  From reading some of the entries it sounds to me like we're still a pretty young group.  After all, many of us have 30 years to go, right? :0)I just got married on June 19th, to the beautiful Celeste Melville from the Adirondack village of Corinth.  We live in Denver, enjoying the good life as I hope all of you are.See you Soon!Bill

comment by Carol (Spencer) Avery

Sadly I have lost contact with my Skyline friends except for Sharon (Funk) Sheranian, who I reconnected with in a local Toastmasters' club. The last reunion I attended was 1988 along with another reconnected eagle, Kathy (Anderson) Christopulous - unfortunately she died of cancer shortly afterwards. I have been married for ten years to Lloyd - my great love and soulmate (it took two failed marriages for both of us to find each other). I have one daughter, Katy, but get this - I gave her up for adoption and reunited with her over twenty years ago. She has a wonderful husband and four delightful children.I have lived in the shadow of Mt. Olympus all my life. Yet my life has been anything but sheltered. My varied life experiences include working thirty-two years for Salt Lake County (Parks & Recreation, Aging Services and the Health Dept - officially I'm retired but not quite ready for the rocking chair. I'm working part time for Salt Lake Valley Health Dept. in my vacated position as Health Educator. I also work Saturdays at the Beaded Puma, where I have taught classes in a revolutionary craft material, precious metal clay. I was also a volunteer DJ for KRCL ten years.

Looking forward to reuniting with all of you - great memories of band, orchestra, track, cross country, maybe some extracurricular stuff every now and then!!I didn't graduate with you all - spent my senior year in California - but like I've never crashed a party before!Like the song says:  "See you in September!"Bill Higgins

comment by Terrie [Sharp] Hansen

I am one of the late ones to post.  Had to find someone under 30 to download.  Maybe by our 50th I'll take the time to learn to do it myself.  Sooooo interesting to read how far and varied our experiences have been.  My only disappointment is that more of us aren't participating.  Sad to see so many in the memoriam section. That part really doesn't seem possible. Life is too short.  Hope more will be able to attend, or at the very least send in some info.   Terrie

comment by Judd Sheranian

I can hardly believe that this is happening.  How did I get so old?  It seems like yesterday when I was singing in Concert Choir, Madrigals, playing  in the orchestra and finding a little time for homework.I am looking forward to seeing my old friends and talk about the great times we had.  I hope I recognize faces and remember names. But don't count on it since i hardly recognize myself anymore.

comment by Sharon Funk Sheranian

Hello Friends! How I look forward to seeing you in September. We were so fortunate to associate with such outstanding young people.  I have alot of fun memories with many of you!We are all getting better and better with each passing year!

Wow, what a journey life has been.  I am still employed because I love my job.  Still working for the Natural Resources Conservation Service.  Have done for the last 37 years.  Knew I always wanted to be in politics.  Currently serving in the Smithfield City Council.  For those of you who don't know where Smithfield is, it is north of Logan.  Looking forward to the runion.

comment by Wendy Norman Sievert

It's hard to believe it's been 40 years. I moved to San Francisco in 1970 where I stayed until 2003 when I retired to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. It was just declared a World Heritage site. It's also known as the party capital of Mexico. I married Jon Sievert in 1980 and we have one wonderful daughter who works at the Oakland Zoo. I won't be able to make it to the reunion but I asked Laura Horiuchi who I have kept in touch with over the years, to say Hi for me.

comment by Robert Alm

See You in September!  Sounds like a song from back in our day ...
