I've made the rounds sice graduation ... After graduating (again) from the U of U in 1973 I worked as an Engineer in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona and finally Massachusetts.  Living now in New Hampshire with my wife Patty ... Two daughters are grown & gone, one back in SLC teaching elementary school in Draper.  We're still pondering coming back out West where I belong one of these days!

I graduated from Weber State as an RN and worked at LDS Hospital until 1996 when I moved to Lincoln City, OR to work as the sole nurse in their ER...still here.  I know I always kept to myself in HS but nursing brought me to life.  Not many will remember me, since I was such a nerd except maybe  Karla Salazar and Terrie Hansen who were my best of friends. I see where many of our rank has fallen...hopefully in peace.

So sorry Doug and I were unable to make it to the 45th reunion! The timing just didn't work for us this time. We're still living in Virginia near Washington DC and life is good, busy and hectic all at the same time.  It's fun  living so close to DC and all that goes on there. I love looking at the Skyline web page and seeing everyone's comments and pictures.  Please keep them coming!  We totally enjoyed the 40th reunion and are looking forward to the 50th!

Hello again from Teton Valley, Idaho.  Sure looking forward to our 45th reunion in September...the 40th was a blast!  Still up here enjoying the good life in the mountains with my husband of 18 years, our horses, cats and various forms of wildlife that come to visit....last winter it was a pack of wolves...didn't go far without my gun by my side!  I'm mostly retired from my bookkeeping business now and just enjoying the easy going farm life.  The winters are rough up here but the rest of the year makes it all worth it!   Hope to see you all in September!  Be sure to stop me and say "Howdy"!

Looking back I realize what a Class Act Skyline was. It always seems those that had fun in High School come to the Reuions. I transfered in Spring of 67 from Gresham, OR and needless to say it took a little time to adapt.

The Girls were cute, State Street was great, and looking back I left to fast June of 1968 for the Bay.

Back in Oregon since 1972!!

If Robyn Aguirre or Gary Nichols would show up next reuion ..............

Hi Everyone,

What a great reunion!  A BIG thanks to the committee - you did a wonderful job with all the planning.  It was such fun to see everyone.  My only regret was that I did not have more time to spend there, and that some meaningful conversations got cut short.  We are lucky to have a terrific class.  I look forward to the next get-together.  Take care, friends, Maurine

I was one of the ones that didn't want to go to any of it because of self-image problems.  I decided to quit worrying about it and just go.  What a great time!! I feel this was the first reunion where people were focusing on each other and just making sure we were OK with our lives.  It wasn't about how successful you are, or what great things you have accomplished, or what positions you have held.  (I hope that's not too mean)  I felt everyone was genuinely interested in talking to all that came.  We would look at the name tag first.  Then we would just hug and chat.

Thank you for all your hard work on this.  Both venues had lots to offer.  Each one different and great!                                          Hope to run into some of you before the next one.  Joyce

Wow, what a fun weekend!  It was great to see all of you and to talk to many of you – the time flew by – I would have liked to catch up with many more. At the end of Saturday night’s event, I couldn’t help thinking how blessed I’ve been my whole life to have known so many wonderful people – starting with East Millcreek Elementary and continuing through Skyline High School and the University of Utah. Though high school was only a short three-four years, it formed a solid foundation of friendship for many of us that even the passing of 40 years hasn’t eroded.  I hope to see you – and many of those who couldn’t make it this time around – at the next Eagle ’68 reunion.

Hi Everyone,

It will be great to see all of you on Friday evening.  I haven't seen most of you since the 30th.  I have lived in Glenwood Springs, Colorado since 1981 and we have raised our 2 sons there.  I am director for dance at the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts and my husband of 32 years, John, is a landscape architect/land planner.  Sounds like a fun reunion - thanks for all the planning and work on it.  I hope we don't look TOO old - 40 years - that's a long time!  See you on Friday!

Hi everyone!  I have to admit life has treated me well.  I got two wonderful kids and business of 23 years, surveying and engineering, has treated me well.
You know the day after we graduated I left home, flew to California where I worked and went to school, but soon found myself having to serve our country.  After that experience I came back to Salt Lake where I soon found employment in an engineering company and I've been at it for 35 years now.
Today my recreation is mostly golf and I play at Alpine Country Club.  I've been into thoroughbreds and a little boating over the years, but they require a lot of money and time. lol
I've been to several of our reunions but I'm sure this one will be the best.

I have been reading these entries for weeks now - about time I signed in.  Life has been rich.  I have a wonderful, talented wife and six amazing kids.  We live north of Seattle and I have been very family centered, so much so that I haven't spent time with any of my old Skyline friends although I do see Zina Brown Kinkaid every once in awhile.

It will be wonderful to check in with you all at the reunion and to play some golf with whomever makes it to the course.

I thought our Skyline years were priceless.  We were good friends - good and friends - and it will be good to renew those friendships.

It's hard to believe it's been 40 years. I moved to San Francisco in 1970 where I stayed until 2003 when I retired to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. It was just declared a World Heritage site. It's also known as the party capital of Mexico. I married Jon Sievert in 1980 and we have one wonderful daughter who works at the Oakland Zoo. I won't be able to make it to the reunion but I asked Laura Horiuchi who I have kept in touch with over the years, to say Hi for me.

Hi to all. I was on a mission for the 5th year reunion, on my honeymoon for the 20th, never heard about the 30th, so figured now was as good a time as any to reconnect. I remember when my mom flew to Minnesota for her 40th year reunion and how ancient that seemed back then. Little did I know how fast time could fly!

After graduating from BYU in advertising and a mission to Austria, I spent 13 years at the "B" as a publications manager for intercultural publications.

I professionally retired in 1988 when I married and relocated to Santa Maria, California. After stops in Watsonville, CA and Mesa, AZ, we returned to Utah and settled in Layton in 2000.

We have been blessed with two daughters. One just graduated from high school in June, and the younger one is a senior. Unfortunately, we haven't had grandkids to help buffer the teenage years in our old age!

I have kept active with free-lance contract work, part-time jobs at the girls' schools, volunteering in the PTA, etc. etc.

I was happy when Layton High beat Skyline in this year's state football tournament, but a part of me was still an Eagle, and I wouldn't have felt badly if Layton had lost.

I hope Joe Morley's BBQ is as good as advertised.

It will be interesting to see if we remember more than we have forgotten from those days so many years ago.

Doug and I are really looking forward to coming to the reunion. Somehow we missed hearing about the 30 year so we're glad to be able to come to this one. We are currently living in Great Falls, Virginia where Doug works as an Engineer for Northrop Grumman. I have the luxury of being a full time Mom, even though the nest is almost empty. We have 4 children, two are currently living at home and attending college. Our son just returned from a mission to Moscow Russia so we are happy to have him home and safe. Our youngest daughter is attending school and hoping to transfer to the U of U to study architecture and interior design. Our other two are married and living nearby. See you all in September.

The reuinion is quickly approaching, so I thought I'd better send a little message.  It doesn't seem like another decade has come and gone.  I enjoyed the last reunion and look forward to the 40 year to see friends that I've thought of through the years.  We're just barely "Empty Nesters" after having children at home for 37 years. There were only 4 of them, but were spread out in age.  We're also
enjoying and loving our 11 grandchildren.  My husband, Larry Fairbanks, and I have wondered though the years if the SKYLINE EAGLE that was in the student body room is still displayed and what kind of shape it's in after so many years.  My father in law donated it to Skyline sometime between 1964 and 1966. While all of the planning and work was done on the reunion we were selling our home and leaving the area we lived in for 34 years.  We actually left the city and moved to Midway, Utah.
So far, we love it here and won't be ready to move again for another 34 years.  Age 92?
See you soon!    Sharon Van Wagenen Fairbanks

Hello to all of you!  It's been a kick to remember our youth.  (Typically, I'm lucky if I can remember yesterday!)  I value my memories of high school and have always been grateful for an education.  Rob and I have been married 36 years and it has been a sweet ride.  We have 3 beautiful daughters who all live with their families nearby and are so grateful to be sharing grandparenting.  I have had a long career as a social worker, working with teen pregnancy.  He's been a lawyer----and turned out to be much brainier than I realized when we met.  (I never sluffed a class 'till I met him!)  Best wishes to each of you and may your dreams continue to come true!  xoxo

Curious thing this Internet.  I hadn’t subscribed, yet my email kept being pummeled with messages, events, searches and such, from “Classmates” and “Reunion”.  What’s a Guestbook?  I opened them a while back finding there was a map indicating my house.  That’s not my house in Classmates, Scottsdale yes, but further North, surrounded by a lot of desert between homes and a golf course.   There are a hundred James Cluff, what with a great grandfather and his five wives and thirty-five children and his brother, who begat likewise, let alone my identity being pinched.  Perhaps one of those is the me in Classmates?  Will the real James Cluff please stand?  I noticed that most every ’68 Eagle produced a few “Desmond and Molly Jones”?  A Reunion?  Forty years?  I don’t wanna grow up, at least not that much!  If someone attends claiming to be James Cluff and offers to buy drinks at the bar, well heck, let him!

Shortly after Dory McQuarrie’s wedding I exited the Valley in search of a second opinion.  I have owed Marcia Timmerman an apology for as many years for a remark I made at the reception that was meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but failed.  My current whereabouts is 18.43° N and 64.71° W.  Caribbean waters or Mediterranean, I can’t decide which I enjoy most.  I told Doug that I liked being surrounded by water and/or sand and to hear graceful accents.  Jimmy Buffet and Margaritaville are around here somewhere.  I’ll keep searching.  Storms chase you here and there at this time of year but, have charted a course for SLC by September, though I’m not sure the trade winds are favorable at that time.  Invitation received.  Have fun, kids.

Hi Everyone!  It's been fun to read all your posts.  I doubt I can attend the reunion, so hope it all goes well.  Looks like a great event has been organized.

After Skyline, I went off to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis MD and then drilled holes in the ocean in a nuclear submarine for several years.  Married Patti Morgan (Skyline '70) 35 years ago and we have two kids, no weddings or grandkids yet.

Attended U. of Washington grad school and have lived in the state of Washington since 1979.  Retired from Hewlett-Packard Company a few years ago and am working on a second (third?) career.

Skyline is the source of many fond memories and I'd love to hear from you.

Have a great time at the reunion.

I am Bary Peterson's wife and received the invitation.  I am sorry that he is no longer here and we miss him everyday.  High school is such a unique time of community and memory building.  I hope you all will remember Bary and all the good times you had with him.  He is no doubt watching the rest of the parade we are all moving in.  I know he would want all of you to assess your lives and live for what really matters, life is at the most only 25,000 days long.  If that were dollars it would be very little.  A book that Bary loved and gave to his brothers is The Purpose driven life by Rick Warren.  Hope many of you will pick up a copy.  Have a great time reflecting on the past and the good ole days.  They were the best. I too graduated in 1968 and will always be a product of the 60ties.  To infinity and beyond!  Dianna Peterson

Hi Everyone,
With schedule permitting, I'm down for the reunion.  I made the last one (30 year) and it was terrific. Seeing people you haven't seen in so many years, where did the time go?  Seems like yesterday, Don Foote, Doug Olson, Chris Utley, Pete Black, and I were playing dances, and assemblies with the Poor Boys.  I guess the old saying, "Time flies when you're having fun"  is true. We're the lucky ones now.  So many are gone.

Sadly I have lost contact with my Skyline friends except for Sharon (Funk) Sheranian, who I reconnected with in a local Toastmasters' club. The last reunion I attended was 1988 along with another reconnected eagle, Kathy (Anderson) Christopulous - unfortunately she died of cancer shortly afterwards.

I have been married for ten years to Lloyd - my great love and soulmate (it took two failed marriages for both of us to find each other). I have one daughter, Katy, but get this - I gave her up for adoption and reunited with her over twenty years ago. She has a wonderful husband and four delightful children.

I have lived in the shadow of Mt. Olympus all my life. Yet my life has been anything but sheltered. My varied life experiences include working thirty-two years for Salt Lake County (Parks & Recreation, Aging Services and the Health Dept - officially I'm retired but not quite ready for the rocking chair. I'm working part time for Salt Lake Valley Health Dept. in my vacated position as Health Educator. I also work Saturdays at the Beaded Puma, where I have taught classes in a revolutionary craft material, precious metal clay. I was also a volunteer DJ for KRCL ten years.

I transferred to Skyline between my Sophomore and Junior year.  I attended Jordan my Sophomore year where I knew almost everyone, a school of nearly 900.  I played football my Sophomore year – all 5’6” and 120 pounds of me.  I never went out for football at Skyline, knowing I was way too small.  I really enjoyed watching the Skyline football games – especially my Senior year when they took STATE!  I thought those football players were “awesome”.

It was very hard for me academically at Skyline.  At Jordan, I did very little homework and got B’s and C’s.  At Skyline, I actually tried very hard.  Let’s just say I did graduate.

I had seminary as a Junior   My teacher was Brother Call.  He seemed to have things together, selling shoes at night, teaching seminary by day and he was newly married.  I believe he had a new little daughter.  As I look back I probably got more out of that class than most others.  In Brother Call’s class I had a secret crush on 2 girls, Sharon and Elaine.  I don’t remember much else except I thought the girls at Skyline were very attractive.

Although it was a painful experience going to Skyline my Junior year, not knowing many students, I was able to finally adapt and became more outgoing.  I enjoyed my senior year and hung out with Guy Thornberg.  Guy lived down the street from me.  During our Senior year, his folks moved to Oregon and so Guy moved in with my family.

I bought a ‘65 Chevy Super Sport working nights at Deseret Book downtown.  I enjoyed racing that round my senior year.

40 years is a long time but there are great memories I still enjoy.   I often wonder what happeded to Steve Lewis, Pete Black, Tom Kalagorie, and Tom Faust.  If you guys are alive, I’d love to hear from you.  I still live in Holladay.

Hello Fellow Eagles,
Darn! Double darn! I won't be able to make it to another reunion.  My oldest daughter is getting married a few days before the reunion and I can't manage participating in both events.

I've watched the videos of the last couple of reunions.  It looked like everyone had a great time.  Our class is a wonderful group of people.

I live in San Jose, California.  I've been happily married for 30 years to Mimi and have 2 wonderful daughters, Jennifer and Stefanie.  (I'm patiently waiting for a grandchild!)  After graduating from the U of U School of Social  Work in '73, I started with the Santa Clara County Department of Family and Children's Services as a child welfare social worker.  I currently work in administration.  I hope to retire this December and "re-invent" myself. (I don't know what I want to do when I grow up!)

I hope you're all well,  God willing, I'll see you for the 50th.

Take care,

Randy

Wow, we can't be that old!  Although the joints tell me otherwise.  I have two beautiful daughters and live only 5 miles away from where I grew up. Graduated from the UofU and am an HR Manager at a wonderful company.  Single and loving life, but still waiting for grandkids.  Of course the granddogs are wonderful but just not the same.

I am also astounded that forty years has flowed on by. I have many fond memories of skyline and have kept close to robin winburn and laura horiuchi who I meet for lunch once a year. I married a fine man and we are still rearing children in our old age. I have a private practice in marriage and family therapy. We live on 2 acres in highland, utah and spend our days on the soccer field or at violin recitals. We are grandparents to four who have recently moved to seattle and we ache for want of them in our day to day life. Yet, I have never been so content. Perhaps age is actually more than its cracked up to be. Hope to reunite with all those gentle friends I remember in gratitude.

Greetings!  I have one son who married a wonderful girl with two little boys whom he has raised and is living in Austin, Texas. I graduated from Westminster College of Nursing and have been working as an RN for 26 years. Have lived in Colorado and Northern California and am now back in SLC. The last reunion I attended was in 1978 and it was a blast. Thanks to all those putting this one together.

It's hard to believe 40 years have passed. I retired last year after 29 1/2 years as a Special Agent for the FBI. My career took us to San Diego for three years and Chicago for about 18 years.  We are back in the area now.  We are empty nesters with two daughters who have given us four grandchildren.  Life is good.  I'm looking forward to seeing all of the familiar faces whose names I can't place due to the cobwebs. We live in Layton. My wife, Carolyn, went to West High (don't hold it against her) and now works part time at United Airline.

Hard to believe that 40 years has sped by.  Thanks to all on the committee for putting this together.  I am still in Arizona.  My wife of 13 years and I have 8 kids between us, and 18 grandkids.  Life is good in the Gila Valley.  I try to help our community as Superior Court judge. I run for re-election in two years.  Look forward to the reunion in September

Can't wait to see everybody.  My wife MinNette and I live in Pueblo Colorado, and we are finally empty-nesters.  Between the two of us we have 11 kids and 16 grandkids.

"You are only as old as you feel" is my husbands favorite saying.  He is MUCH older than I am chronologically but he refuses to grow up.  Therefore, so do I.  I am looking forward to seeing EVERYONE again.  I feel terrible that we haven't been able to find everyone yet. Please help us.  We need addresses and emails.  Not just "I ran into so and so".  Everyone on the committee has been working so hard to make this a success for you.  I feel grateful to know such great classmates.  I plan on definitely being there to see everyone and to support all of those others that have been working so hard.  Please join us. I would love to hear from anyone and everyone.  As PETULA CLARK said: "Call Me, Don't Be Afraid to Just Call Me."  (801) 971-4037

I CANNOT believe it's been forty years!  Where has the time gone?  Maybe to raising my six children and they in turn raising their children (19)!!  Now, we're just down to one...Tag, the four legged kind.  See you in September.

I must be getting old to realize that I graduated 40 years ago.  I was the quiet one, no one knew me, and I slowly slipped down the dripping halls, didn't raise any ruckus, and just plain got an education at Skyline.  Never been to a reunion, but this time might be the first.  Live in Brigham City, thus close enough to come and see all you OLD people.

It will be great fun to connect with all of you again.  Will I recognize you?  Will you remember me?   I still live in Everett, WA where my husband builds custom homes and I teach gifted 5th grade.  My eight children are grown and all on to their own paths.   Forty years is a lot of water under the bridge!  I do get back to SLC several times a year to visit my dad, and I'll be there in September!

This sounds like fun.  What a great idea to have a hike in the canyon.  I haven't kept in touch with any of my high school friends.  It will be a treat to see everyone.  I'll bring the pep club history scrapbook that I found in the Skyline locker room trash several years ago.  What a coincidence!

I love these reunions!  So fun to re-connect and catch up with my great classmates.
I am back to work after being retired for 6 1/2 years.  I'm an Internet Banker.  My two kids are grown and flown away.  No grandchildren yet.
I live with my sweetheart of the past 4 years, and we enjoy traveling and the peace and quiet of our small "farm" in Erda when not working.
Can't wait to see you all in September.  The hike in Millcreek sounds like lots of fun!
Write to me if you have a minute.

Hi Ya'all!
I'm so looking forward to re-connecting with you and hearing all about your life's journey!  It has sure been a ride hasn't it?!!  I'm living up in Tetonia, ID which is in the Teton Valley (over the mountain from Jackson).  My husband, Buck, and I have enjoyed the peaceful life and slow pace that living in this mountain valley has brought us the last 12 years.  Can't wait to see you!

Hello everyone,
This year is my political year and maybe I will be at the National Convention for Republicans the week before reunion if I win my nomination. I was married the week after our 20th reunion and now I have two wonderful sons and a great Scottish husband Kalani who was born in Hawaii and is probably going to be working in England soon. So my time tables are shaky. We live here in Colorado Springs. Hope to see everyone in the fall.
